Since 2020, there has been an increasing demand in the market to ban all virgin oil-based materials.  Several producers have developed PP yarn made with a compound of virgin and post-industrial recycled chips.  At Rikor Textiles, we believe the consumer deserves better than that, so our R&D team has continued their efforts until we were able to produce a PP chip made from 100% post-consumer waste.

To do this, we have selected certified waste collectors who supply us various (traceable) streams of cleaned post-consumer waste such as food trays, bottle caps, packaging film etc.  Our daughter company Coral X does a further sorting and cleaning; we then compound the different materials and regranulate a clear PP chip with an MFI of 12 or 25.

Those chips are then going to our extrusion department to be made into yarn and then tufted - all under the same roof.

We are proud to annouce that in 2024, our tufted scatter rugs made from 100% post-consumer waste will be at major retailers worldwide, such as Costco, Walmart and many others.
